Greenline Biomass is in the business of providing sustainably grown and carbon neutral biomass supplied from purpose-grown renewable Mallee Eucalypt plantations throughout Australia, to those who will benefit from replacing coal with biomass, such as power stations.
Greenline Biomass offers a new and drought-resistant income stream for farmers with the opportunity to diversify and hedge their crops.
Greenline also offers electricity generators real opportunities to purchase energy feedstock, reduce CO2-e emissions and offset additional emissions, giving customers the simplicity and piece of mind that comes with knowing they only have to deal with one organisation who will manage the entire process for them.
Greenline Biomass, in conjunction with Delta Electricity, has recently launched the first stage of Delta's proposed $250 million biomass co-firing trial across NSW with 10 participating farmers which could see up to 20% of coal usage at Wallerawang Power Station replaced with carbon-neutral renewable biomass. During this trial project, over 200,000 native Mallee Eucalypt trees will be grown across ten participating farms around Forbes, NSW.
The trees will be harvested and processed into renewable fuel pellets that can readily substitute for coal in the existing base-load coal fired power station and the trial will provide information about seedling survival and growth rates.
